Our Story
On a chilly December evening, Joe and Laura went out to celebrate their four year dating anniversary. The evening opened with dinner at Smith & Wollensky in Chicago. The two of them made it a point to arrive early to ensure they received a window seat with a view of the skyline. Their steak dinner, paired with a bottle of wine, was amazing.
After dinner, our love birds decided to walk through the city to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations. Unbeknownst to Laura, Joe had a few friends (Becky Martinez and Victoria Trahey) lying in wait to photograph the magical moment. Joe had to get Laura to the Christmas tree at Millennium Park (where Becky and Victoria were waiting) directly from dinner without seeming suspicious. At times Laura expressed interest in making other stops aside from Millennium Park. Joe was able to convince Laura that they should go to the park first and could take detours on the way back.
When the two finally arrived at the Christmas tree, Joe noticed that everyone was in place (and out of view from Laura) and now had to hit his pre-determined mark. Despite the fact that park was packed with tourists, Joe was able to get Laura and himself in place and dropped to his knee. He followed by removing the engagement ring from his pocket and presented it to Laura. This was the moment Laura had eagerly awaited (for quite some time) and all that she could say was, "Really!?". Joe responded, "Will you marry me?" with a hopeful smile. Laura excitedly replied, "Yes!" The two punctuated this moment with a kiss. All of which was captured photographically.
